Safran has received a 17-year, by-the-hour contract to support engines operated by the U.K. Military Flying Training System program.
Under the agreement, Safran joins forces with Airbus Helicopters in servicing rotary-wing aircraft flown by Britain's Defense Helicopter Flying School.
"Safran is delighted to be going forward with Airbus Helicopters, now in twin engine rotorcraft," the company said in a statement announcing the deal.
The aerospace contractor goes on to say the deal is related to an earlier agreement signed with Britain's defense ministry in July 2016, when it was selected to supply Arrius 2B2 and Arriel 2E turbines for the country's H135 and H145 fleets.
Similar helicopter variants are employed by military training programs in Australia, France, Germany and the United States.
According to Safran, Arrius 2B2 and Arriel 2E turbines use state-of-the-art technology to enable helicopters to perform in demanding environments. The company has delivered over 3,150 Arrius engines to 430 customers.
