NuScale to support ENTRA1 TVA deal to deploy 6 GW of small modular reactors

- NuScale Proudly Supports TVA and ENTRA1 Energy Announcement of Landmark 6-Gigawatt Small Module Reactor (SMR) Deployment Program Los Angeles CA (SPX) Sep 04, 2025 SPX
NuScale Power Corporation (NYSE: SMR) has endorsed ENTRA1 Energy's landmark agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to install up to 6 gigawatts of NuScale small modular reactor (SMR) capacity across TVA's seven-state region. The initiative represents the largest SMR deployment program in U.S. history.

The program aims to provide carbon-free baseload electricity equivalent to powering the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Demand for dependable electricity is rising due to hyperscale data centers, artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and other critical sectors.

NuScale CEO John Hopkins said ENTRA1's decision underscores confidence in the company's U.S. NRC-certified technology. "ENTRA1's team of energy and finance veterans brings exceptional value to our partnership... Together, we are ready as partners to meet America's surging demand for reliable, carbon-free baseload power," he stated.

The partnership advances the federal agenda to accelerate deployment of advanced nuclear power. By combining TVA's utility experience, ENTRA1's development expertise, and NuScale's approved technology, the program reinforces U.S. leadership in next-generation nuclear energy.

ENTRA1 Chief Projects Officer Skip Alvarado emphasized energy reliability. "Energy security is national security-and dependable electricity is the lifeblood of America's future... Without abundant, affordable baseload power, innovation stalls and supply chains break," he said.

Under the agreement, ENTRA1 will build and finance six plants, each powered by multiple NuScale Power Modules, to deliver up to 6 GW of 24/7 baseload power. NuScale's modular, factory-built systems are designed for scalability, efficiency, and applications including hydrogen production, desalination, and industrial heating.

Founded in 2007, NuScale Power remains the only company with U.S. NRC-certified SMR technology. Its NuScale Power Module produces 77 MWe each, scalable to 924 MWe in a 12-module configuration. NuScale and ENTRA1 Energy maintain a global strategic partnership, with ENTRA1 holding exclusive worldwide rights to commercialize and deploy the reactors.
