PSLV Countdown For C15 Launch Begins

The nearly 51-hour countdown for the launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C15) from the spaceport at Sriharikota began at 6.52 a.m. on Saturday, and is progressing smoothly, officials of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have said. The four-stage rocket has been fully assembled and the satellites have been mated with it. The launch has been scheduled for 9.22 a.m. on Monday. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is planning to relaunch the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) with a home-grown cryogenic engine in a year's time after the failure in April this year. India and Canada have signed an agreement for nuclear energy cooperation, the prime ministers of both countries announced.
