China urges Sri Lanka to release fishermenBeijing (UPI) Aug 7, 2012 The Chinese Embassy in Colombo has urged a speedy release of 37 Chinese fishermen arrested for alleged illegal fishing in Sri Lankan waters. An embassy official said the Sri Lankan authorities should handle the issue in accordance with the law and release the Chinese fishermen as soon as possible, a report by China's state-run Xinhua news agency said.
