China to spend five billion dollars on quake reconstructionBeijing (AFP) June 14, 2010 China plans to spend five billion dollars on reconstruction work in areas devastated by a deadly earthquake in April, the government said Sunday. A 6.9-magnitude quake struck Yushu county, a largely ethnically Tibetan area in Qinghai province in a remote part of the country's northwest on April 14, killing nearly 2,700 people and flattening thousands of homes. Hylas On Schedule For Launch
